The Adventures of Kat and Busby features the exploits of an 11 ½ year-old girl, Kaitlyn Alice Thomas, ostracised by her contemporaries, but gifted in artistic and imaginative skills. Kat, as she prefers to be called, dotes on her father, who teaches her survivor skills and the ways of the countryside. The only thing missing in her life is a real live dog, as all her drawings include her imaginary, canine companion, who she has already named Busby. She is determined to get a puppy and have a life full of adventure and finding Busby under intense circumstances, there then follows a series of escapades beyond even her wildest imaginations.
